Electrofishing boat Elritsan

Page reviewed:  18/03/2025

The electrofishing boat Elritsan on its maiden voyage on Lake Mälaren. We use the boat for environmental monitoring of fish in watercourses and lakes.

Gentle monitoring method

Boat fishing is a gentle environmental monitoring method. An electric current attracts and stuns the fish that are then caught with a net. After species identification, measurement and a recovery period, the fish are then released back into the water.
