Hålabben is a coastal research vessel capable of trawling, hauling, or using other gear.

About the research vessel Hålabben

The vessel is 3 meters wide and can be transported by truck for easy relocation between different sampling waters. Onboard, there is a permanently mounted workbench for sorting the catch. The vessel is stationed at the Institute of Marine Research in Lysekil.

Area of operation

The working area for Hålabben is in coastal waters with a maximum distance from the outermost islands of 1 nautical mile or 4 nautical miles from the nearest safe harbor. But since the vessel can be transported by truck, it can be used both at sea and in lakes.
