Fish monitoring in rivers and streams – SERS
Welcome to the database for fish monitoring in rivers and streams. Here, you can download data from over 81,000 surveys across 22,000 sites in Swedish watercourses and find information for those conducting environmental monitoring using electrofishing methods.
The database for fish monitoring in rivers and streams is officially called the Swedish Electrofishing Register (SERS). It is the national database for electrofishing data and has been in use since 1989. All data is available to the public.
Data for research, red lists, and ecological status
The data is used in national assessments, such as evaluating the ecological status of our waterways, as well as in monitoring fishery management actions (e.g., liming, building fish passages, and habitat restoration). Data from the database is also used in research projects and national compilations, such as the SLU Swedish Species Information Centre's red list.
