SLU Competence Centre for Advisory Services contributes to sustainable development by strengthening stakeholders' capacity and fostering collaboration and cooperation.

In our research and teaching, we work closely with people. We aim to understand and support new methods and approaches and participate in innovative change processes.

Our mission

  • We want to strengthen the capacity of actors contributing to sustainable development in various ways.
  • By working with stakeholders at an early stage, we actively participate in development processes.
  • We shape and adapt technical and social innovation to make it integrated to society in a fair and responsible manner.
  • We see communication and new ways of working as crucial to achieving increased sustainability in a successful way.

We see comparable challenges in different contexts and meet the needs for:

  • Strengthened knowledge development and innovation
  • Better conditions for collaboration and cooperation
  • Ability to move from words to action
  • Increased competence
  • New methods and working methods for managing complexity and conflicts

Methods and learning

SLU Competence Centre for Advisory Services works closely with industrial actors. Through research, education and development projects, our goal is to strengthen their capacity – both internally and externally.
We work to increase our common understanding of success factors (research) and with developing methods useful in many different contexts (practices). Learning is part of all our processes.

Broad collaborations

Our research group is eager to collaborate broadly with others. Currently, we work with the Swedish Agricultural Society, Växa Sverige and various county administrative boards. An important partner is the Västra Götaland Region, which has contributed to our funding for many years. In our work, we use methods and approaches that our partners can benefit from and apply in their own operations.

In December 2024, we published the book "Collaboration for Sustainable Agriculture" in which 19 researchers and experts, with a focus on counceling, reflect on knowledge development and methods. The book offers a critical overview, analysis and concrete conclusions.
