Information about Transport and Accommodation during NBBC/NBARS 2027
Below you can find some information about possible accommodation and transport during your visit to Uppsala and 2027 NBBC meeting and NBARS. There are of course other options for accommodation if you have other preferences.
Transport
Important information for travel via Arlanda Airport:
If you are 18 or older and traveling by train (Mälartåg or SL commuter train) to or from Arlanda Central Station, you must purchase a special "Arlanda passage fee" in addition to your regular UL ticket to pass through the ticket barriers. This fee can be purchased directly via the UL app or on-site at the airport ticket barriers. If you travel by regional bus (e.g., line 801) to or from Arlanda, you simply pay for a standard bus ticket.
The easiest way for an international visitor to purchase a ticket with Upplandstrafiken (UL) is to pay using an international bank card (Visa or MasterCard) directly on board the bus.
Here are the best options:
• Directly on the bus (most convenient for single trips): You can tap or pay with your international Visa or MasterCard using the ticket terminal next to the bus driver on almost all UL buses. Please note: This does not apply to Mälartåg trains or SL commuter trains; for these, you must have a ticket before boarding.
• Via the UL app: You can download the UL app to your smartphone. Within the app, you can register your international bank card (Visa/MasterCard) to purchase single or period tickets. The app is available in English.
• Ticket machines: Physical ticket machines are located at major stations and transport hubs (such as Uppsala Central Station and Arlanda Airport). These machines accept international bank cards.

Accommodation
Very close to the bus and railway station is Elite Hotel Academia, a four-star hotel.
Radisson Blu is another four-star hotel, as is Clarion Hotel Gillet.
Scandic Uplandia, a three-star hotel is located relatively close to the station.
Home Hotel is another three-star option located relatively close to the railway station.
All of these hotels are sustainability-certified.
