Outreach
Knowledge dissemination is a central mission for the university and the experimental forests. We focus our efforts on three target groups: forestry education programs, the forestry sector, and the general public.
Excursions, Courses, and Educational Activities
A key part of our work involves organizing excursions, courses, and training programs for various target groups connected to forestry and forest management. These events provide participants with the opportunity to engage with current research and practical applications in forest management. By combining theory and practice, we create a learning environment that fosters understanding and engagement.
In addition to educational efforts, the unit collaborates with various partners to promote knowledge dissemination. This includes partnerships with schools, preschools, and community organizations, where visits and joint activities help spark interest in forests and nature. Through these initiatives, participants gain insight into forest ecosystems and their significance, which can inspire curiosity and appreciation for forest research.
Museum Activities
The unit is also involved in the Siljansfors Forestry Museum, outside Mora, which highlight the historical development of forestry. Through exhibitions and historical collections, visitors are given the opportunity to explore the history of forestry and its impact on society. This helps place today’s forestry challenges in a historical context.

Publications
Research conducted at the experimental forests and based on our long-term field trials is frequently published, and we also produce our own report series.
