Program Council and Steering Committee
The Program Council of the National Forest Inventory is a user advisory group discussing forest statistics. It also unofficially serves as the Program Council for the Soil Inventory. The Program Steering Committee handles the scientific and strategic leadership.
he National Forest Inventory carries out the work assigned to SLU as the responsible statistical authority for "Forest Condition and Change."
"The statistical authority should adapt the content and scope of the statistics to societal developments and base this adaptation on environmental monitoring, including dialogue with users, such as through user councils, direct interactions with individual users, and systematic user studies." (Guidelines established by the Official Statistics Council, 2003-10-30)
The Council meets twice a year, once in the spring and once in the autumn. The Program Steering Committee of the National Forest Inventory prepares the meetings for the Program Council.
