Here you will find documentation about the Soil Inventory database, MiBas.

The Soil Inventory Database

MiBas contains data on soil conditions and soil chemistry. It is updated annually and includes data from the beginning of the inventory in 1983. The database can be linked to the Swedish National Forest Inventory (NFI) database, as both inventories share the same sample plots. It also includes data from the ground vegetation inventory, which was transferred from the Soil Inventory to the NFI in 2003.

The database is continuously updated with new data. The data from MiBas can be connected to data from the Swedish National Forest Inventory, since both inventories are conducted on the same sample plots.

All detailed information regarding the database is in Swedish. Please contact us if you have any questions.

When referring to our data, please state the following: The Swedish Forest Soil Inventory is part of the national environmental monitoring commissioned by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
