For WIFORCE researchers

Page reviewed:  17/04/2026

This page gathers practical information and resources for researchers involved in WIFORCE. Here you find support, guidance and ways to engage within the programme.

WIFORCE logo and branding

Researchers, PhD students, research infrastructures and partners affiliated with WIFORCE are encouraged to make their connection to the programme visible in presentations, posters, reports and other communication activities.

The WIFORCE logo is available in three colour versions:

  • Green
  • Black
  • White

Please use the version that provides the best contrast against the background.

Download the WIFORCE logo below. Two zip files are available:

Digital use (PNG)
For presentations, websites, social media and other screen-based applications.

Print (EPS)
For printed materials and professional graphic production.

Guiding principle

Consider your role in the context when deciding how WIFORCE should be made visible.

When communicating your research

When communicating your research, you normally represent your own organisation, such as SLU, Umeå University, UPSC, or others, and use your organisation’s standard communication templates and visual identity.

The connection to WIFORCE should be made visible by using the WIFORCE logo or by referring to WIFORCE in the text, depending on the context (see examples below).

Example: Research presentation

A researcher presents their research at a conference. The researcher uses the university’s standard presentation template. The connection to WIFORCE is made visible through the WIFORCE logo on the title slide or closing slide.

Example: Research news article

A researcher and a communications officer prepare a news article about new research findings. The connection to WIFORCE is made visible where appropriate, for example in the main text, a fact box or a link.

Examples: “The research is part of the Wallenberg Initiatives in Forest Research (WIFORCE) programme.” or “… says XXX, researcher within the WIFORCE research programme.”

When communicating about WIFORCE

When communicating about WIFORCE as a programme, the Research School, the research arenas or other programme-wide activities, you represent WIFORCE.

In these contexts, WIFORCE communication templates should be used when available. WIFORCE should be clearly profiled through the use of the WIFORCE logo and by describing the programme’s connection to SLU, Umeå University and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (see example below).

Example: Presenting WIFORCE

A PhD student presents the WIFORCE Research School at a recruitment event.

In this context, the PhD student represents WIFORCE. The WIFORCE logo and visual identity are used, and the programme’s connection to SLU, Umeå University, and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation is made clear through the following description:

WIFORCE – a research programme at SLU in collaboration with Umeå University, funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

In these contexts, the logos of:

  • Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU)
  • Umeå University
  • Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation

may be used together with the WIFORCE logo when appropriate.

Logo versions

The WIFORCE logo is available in green, black, and white.

Use the version that provides the best contrast against the background.

Do not alter the logo

The logo must not be:

  • recoloured
  • distorted or rotated
  • cropped
  • combined with other symbols
  • modified with shadows or other visual effects
