Scientists extract DNA from the extinct Gotland cow

The Gotland cow became extinct in the early 1950s. Researchers at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences have extracted DNA from two skulls from the Gotland cow.The results show that the Gotland cow is more closely related to the SRB breed than to modern-day landraces of cows.
