Interview with Cecilia Onyango, hub leader in Kenya
AgriFoSe2030 consists of three hubs in sub-Saharan Africa and one network in Southeast Asia. To learn more about the hubs and their specific change projects, we asked the hub-leaders a few questions about their work. Professor Cecilia Onyango tell us more about the project Sustainable and resilient food systems for improved food security in Kenya.

Kenya is experiencing a rapid rise in population. This exerts immense pressure on agriculture and the environment and subsequently to the food system to continue providing food and raw materials to the increased population. This project aims to enhancing governance of food and extension systems for improved agricultural resilience and ecosystem sustainability.
Change story: Planting seeds of change
The AgriFoSe2030 project on Functions in extension service pathways is rooted in a desire to improve smallholder farmers’ livelihoods. It focuses on addressing challenges in agricultural extension functions and facilitating cross learning in extension between Kenya, Sri Lanka and Laos.
