Forest attribute maps
Metadata
Where the ground surface weighted average height is lower than 3 metres, no estimates have been made and the cell values are set to 0 in all maps.
Forest attribute maps are digital maps that describe the condition of forests and soils. The maps include volume, basal area, basal area weighted mean height, basal area weighted mean diameter and biomass. The map products are raster maps with cells of 12.5 x 12.5 metres.
Forest attribute maps are used by private forest owners, forest officials and public authorities, among others. Data can be downloaded, maps can be viewed using interactive web tools and data can be read in various GIS programmes.
The maps are produced by processing data from Lantmäteriet's national laser scanning and sample areas from the National Forest Inventory.
The maps are continuously updated as new laser data is added.
