Presentation
I am a limnologist and fish biologist with a strong focus on aquaculture. With experience from academia, government, and industry, I work on topics related to fish production, environmental impact, and fish nutrition, primarily focusing on the use of circular raw materials.
Research
My main research focus is environmental impacts of aquaculture, in particular from fish farming. I am involved in several projects in collaboration with research groups both within and outside SLU. Key areas of my work include nutrient leakage, fish nutrition and feed, and the ecological impacts of aquaculture on the aquatic environment.
Research projects
- Fish farming in the North
- Feeds of the future for fish poultry and pigs
- Environmental effects of escaped farmed fish on natural fish fauna
- Tree to feed
- Blue Food 2.0 Formas center

Teaching
I teach aquaculture both at SLU and in external settings. I supervise students at both the bachelor's and master's levels and am also part of a supervisory team for doctoral students. Since 2023, I have been responsible for the bachelor’s course in Animal Science at THV. I am a member of the NKVF steering group, where education in Swedish aquaculture is a key priority. We actively work to provide knowledge and training to professionals in the Swedish aquaculture sector.
