Short summary
This Swedish Energy Agency project (2024-2029) centres on the development of large-scale production of biocarbon via pyrolysis to meet future challenges, in particular for use in industry (e.g. metallurgy). The aim of the project is, from a systems perspective, to increase knowledge about sourcing feedstock from various residual streams and expanding sustainable biocarbon production in Sweden. The project is part of the Graduate School in Energy Systems (FoES, https://liu.se/en/research/graduate-school-in-energy-systems) based at Linköping University and is a collaboration between SLU and Luleå University of Technology with three participating PhD students.
