Svea’s CTD hangar is a dedicated space for operating the central CTD rosette – an instrument package used to measure and collect water samples throughout the water column.
The hangar is directly connected to both the deck and the chemistry laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow and logistics.
Please note: Not all laboratory equipment is part of the vessel’s standard instrumentation. The equipment is owned by SMHI, accredited by SWEDAQ, and may only be used by prior agreement with SMHI. Please contact us well in advance of your expedition.
Key features:
- Lifting and winch systems for the safe deployment and recovery of the CTD rosette, even in rough sea conditions
- Workbench and dedicated stations for preserving, labelling, and distributing samples
- Real-time sensor and video monitoring via Svea’s internal data network
