Field-adapted laboratory space with direct access to the sea for sampling.
The wet lab is Svea’s main workspace for handling samples – particularly plankton and water. It is located between the work deck and the CTD hangar to allow for rapid processing of samples immediately after collection. The lab features a hatch with an external platform from which smaller sampling gear, such as nets, can be deployed using a winch.
