High interest in Floating University on Svea
Interest in this summer’s Floating University on board the research vessel Svea has been high. A total of 17 students have now been offered a place.
All selected participants have been contacted via email. More than 200 qualified applications were received, which unfortunately means that it has not been possible to provide individual feedback to all applicants.
The Floating University is organised within the EU-funded project Aquarius and is aimed at master’s and PhD students who want to gain practical experience of marine research at sea.
More courses and training opportunities are offered within Aquarius. See current training opportunities on the Aquarius website.

The project includes 57 infrastructures in total, such as research vessels, monitoring stations, drones, aircraft, satellite services, laboratories and virtual data platforms.
Running from 2024 to 2028, AQUARIUS is coordinated by the Marine Institute of Ireland. SLU participates with the research vessel R/V Svea.
