The report aims to present what a social service dog is, what work it does, how the people it helps are affected by the dog-assisted intervention, what the dogs' needs are and how their health and welfare are affected by the work.
The report results in a number of national recommendations and conclusions, which are aimed at decision-makers with the aim of quality assurance of the activities and ensuring the welfare of the dogs. The report is part of the SLU Future Animals, Nature and Health report series, number 9.
