About Us
The Department is located in the SLU BioCenter, a modern research facility on the Ultuna campus. We have approximately 110 members including researchers, PhD students and technical and administrative staff.
Research
Our teams produce state-of-the-art research in the fields of chemistry, molecular biology, food science and microbiology using the advanced infrastructure at the department.
Education
We provide quality education at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the fields of chemistry, molecular biology, food science and microbiology. Additionally, we coordinate the Agronomy program (food science).
Infrastructure
The department is well-equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and instruments to carry out our research projects and facilitate external collaborations.
Kennes' Memorial Fund
Lennart Kennes' Memorial Fund provides travel grants and was established through donations from family and friends, colleagues and former associates of Professor Lennart Kenne (1944-2011).
