The stimulating work of a PhD student also comes with its challenges. With this lunch seminar, we want to identify where the challenges lie and explore how we can work together to improve the working conditions for PhD students.

You Are Not Alone
At this lunch seminar, several of the available resources for PhD students will be present: The doctoral student ombudsman (DO) Monika Appel and Ola Enström from Falck Occupational Health Services. They will present the support they currently offer and how you can access it.

Your Everyday Life Is the Key
Equally important is your perspective. What is your situation like? What makes it work? What improvements and support do you wish for? By sharing our experiences, we can support each other and generate new ideas.

All the ideas, comments, and discussions from the day will serve as valuable input for our continued efforts to further improve the work environment for PhD students.

Welcome to the seminar, arranged by GS-VMAS, on how to make the PhD position work well for you!

Lunch sandwich or salad will be served for those who register

Do you ever wonder how you will get enough time and energy to finish that huge writing project? Or are you nearly finished with your compilation thesis and now need to write that crucial summarizing chapter? A couple of articles in process, others that need adjusting after peer- review, but no earthly idea of how to finish either? Are you struggling with perfectionism and procrastination, resulting in writer´s block?

Then join workshop this for PhD students, in collaboration with Finish on Time, that focuses explicitly on academic writing and common psychological aspects surrounding it. You will get access to a toolbox which helps you work more happily and productively, starting today. We will be addressing how to build writing habits and manage common psychological obstacles to academic writing, such as perfectionism and procrastination. You will also learn how to achieve a sense of continuous flow in your writing process.
