SCaN – Silva CAreer & Network

The initiative entails travel and short visit to a research lab, industry, university, infrastructure and activity. This should be linked to the doctoral student's project so that it generates an added value, in the form of gained new perspectives and increased understanding of diverse approaches, methods, research fields, cultures, and career paths.

Silva has allocated SEK 100,000 per year to this initiative and the maximum amount a doctoral student can apply for is SEK 20,000. After the completion of the activity a report should be submitted via email to Silva (maximum 300 words).

The application is sent in as one signed electronic copy to silva@slu.se plus one electronic copy to registrator-sfak@slu.se.

In summer 2026 SCaN will be evaluated. A decision for a continuation of the initative will be taken in the beggining of September 2026. In the meantime if you want to apply for a SCaN contact silva@slu.se for advice.
