SCaN – Silva CAreer & Network

SCaN aims to provide support for doctoral students at the Faculty of Forest Sciences who are in the year 2-4 of their doctoral education and wish to seek career related advice, acquire a new skill or establish important contacts, within or outside SLU, during their PhD studies. The SCaN initiative entails travel and short visit to a research lab, industry, university, infrastructure and activity (excluding partcipation in courses with ECTS credits). This should be linked to the doctoral student's project so that it generates an added value, in the form of gained new perspectives and increased understanding of diverse approaches, methods, research fields, cultures, and career paths. 

Silva has allocated SEK 100,000 per year to this initiative and the maximum amount a doctoral student can apply for is SEK 20,000. After the completion of the activity a report should be submitted via email to SILVA (maximum 300 words).

The application is sent in as one signed electronic copy to silva@slu.se plus one electronic copy to registrator-sfak@slu.se.
