Our research focuses on creating value from industrial biomass residues for energy, material and chemical applications.
We develop technologies, processes and characterisation methods that enable sustainable use of biomass in our society. We work with forest, agricultural and aquatic biomass in addition to biobased residues and waste from industry to produce electricity, heat and biorefined products. Much of our research is done in close collaboration with industry. Our facilities include a chemical laboratory and a pilot-scale research centre.
