Welcome Letter
Congratulations on your place on the programme Forest and Landscape (BSc) at SLU in Alnarp. We look forward to welcoming you here this autumn.
The 2026 autumn semester starts with a welcome event, followed by a mandatory roll-call and information session. If you are studying remotely, you can tak e part in the welcome session via video link, and the roll-call will also take place online.
Date: Monday, 31 August 31 2026
Time and place: On the New Student web page, you can find information about the start of the semester and where and when the roll-call for your programme will take place.
On that same page, you will also find all the information you need as a new student at SLU.
Your first course on the programme is Trees: Structure and Function (BI1452). On the course page, you will find the timetable and other course-related information. The timetable and reading list are published at least four weeks before the course starts.
We look forward to meeting you! The next three years will be valuable and exciting. Our focus is on your success, but please keep in mind that your academic results depend on your own personal responsibility and effort. Throughout your studies, you will take courses across various subjects and departments, sometimes alongside both domestic and international students from other programmes.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you and exploring forested landscapes together over the coming years. The Forest and Landscape programme is built on the idea that complex challenges require multiple perspectives. By combining forestry science and landscape architecture, you will develop the ability to understand, manage, and shape landscapes across different contexts, from production forests to urban environments.
During the programme, you will move from foundational knowledge to more applied and integrative work, engaging with real-world questions related to forest management, sustainability, and societal needs.
We look forward to meeting you soon and wish you a great start to your studies at SLU!
