Biography
Dr. Hendrikus W. G. van Herwijnen earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Vienna. After a decade as a researcher with a leading global adhesive manufacturer, he joined Kompetenzzentrum Holz GmbH (Wood K plus) in 2012, where he now serves as Deputy Area Manager for the Area “Wood Materials Technologies”. He leads the “Advanced Bonding” team, focusing on adhesive performance and the development of solutions based on renewable resources, in close collaboration with industry partners and the BOKU University. His vision is to see renewable adhesives implemented on a significant industrial scale in the wood sector.
