Presentation

My research centers around integrating ecology with geospatial and statistical analyses and modelling to better inform natural resource management.

Forskning

The aim of my PhD is to create an interdisciplinary decision support tool for management of ditches in Swedish forest land.

Sweden has one million kilometres of ditches that have likely had widespread effects on the landscape, but this has not been well studied at a national-scale. Knowing more about legacy ditch impacts will also help with decisions on which ditches shoudl eb restored or left alone. There are too many ditches to restore all of them, plus it may not be feasible or desireable to restore a given ditch, depending on surpassed ecological thresholds and stakeholder priorities. The decision support tool will help managers decide utilize existing nation-wide data and their own site data to determine what path is best for their site and goals.
