Presentation
I am a university lecturer with a theoretical and practical background in animal husbandry, architecture, and sustainability. My main focus in education and research is building construction and technology related to animal husbandry, adaptive reuse of buildings, tourism, and sustainability.
Forskning
My earlier research centred on agricultural buildings, their spatial relationships, and potential for adaptive reuse—primarily within tourism and sustainability-focused contexts.
My current research project, "Best Practice," aims to develop a digital platform to support farmers and landowners in the adaptive reuse of agricultural buildings for tourism and other diversified activities. The project also forms part of peer reviewed publications and contributes to the development of case studies and teaching materials for courses within SLU’s Bachelor Programme in Rural Development and Agriculture (Lantmästarprogrammet).

Cooperation
I work across disciplines with farmers, construction companies, and suppliers of materials, technology, and services in the building and agricultural sectors. I collaborate with researchers both in Sweden and across several European countries such as the Univeristy of Valldolid (Spain), MATE (Hungary) and at the Kathmandu Univeristy in Nepal.
I am also a member of the GAIA International eco-architecture network: https://www.gaia-international.eu. Since its founding, I have also been a member of Hållbart Byggande i Syd (Sustainable Building in the South), where I have held various positions, including chairman: https://hbsyd.se/
Conference Organisation
I serve as the main organiser of two annually repeated conferences:
- LantBygg: A conference focused on rural buildings and building materials. Details and updates can be found on the Partnerskap Alnarp calendar at https://partnerskapalnarp.slu.se/pub/kalendarium.aspx
- Alnarp Fjäderfädag: An annual event dedicated to the poultry sector. Information is available through the Partnerskap Alnarp calendar at https://partnerskapalnarp.slu.se/pub/kalendarium.aspx
- AgriBuild Conference in April 2024, which focused on renewable, sustainable building materials derived from agriculture. The event featured presentations on topics such as hempcrete, hemp insulation, and linseed oil products, and included a workshop discussing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to agricultural-based building materials. The conference emphasised the importance of networking and knowledge transfer between academia, industry, and authorities. Due to its success and high demand, the Department of Biosystems and Technology plans to hold the conference annually.
