The 9th Animal Welfare Science Symposium 2026
Animal welfare science is a multidisciplinary subject. To advance the broad subject of animal welfare, researchers need to meet and discuss their results and ideas. These symposia are intended to be a friendly scientific forum for such discussion. Both natural and social scientists are welcome.
Tuesday to Wednesday 19-20 May 2026, SLU Uppsala
This symposium will be a mixture of longer plenary talks from invited speakers, shorter talks and group discussions. People are also welcome to present preliminary results. It will start directly after lunch on day one and finish in mid-afternoon on day two. If you haven’t joined one of these symposia before, then this year is your chance.
The invited plenary speakers are:
Laura Webb: Wageningen University and Research (The Netherland) will talk on positive emotions in animals
Mette Herskin: Aarhus University (Denmark) will talk about transporting pigs
3rd Speaker: To be confirmed
More information about the symposium; how to offer to give a presentation, register etc. will follow shortly. Until then please save this date.
