Forskning

The main goal of my thesis is to improve our understanding how plant phenology affects the boreal peatland carbon cycle. I am specifically interested in the different role of Sphagnum mosses and vascular plants on greenhouse gas fluxes (CO2 and CH4) in response to biotic and abiotic drivers on sub-seasonal timescales. For this, I am using an automated chamber system established across experimental vegetation removal plots in combination with measurements of various environmental variables and comprehensive vegetation data.
