Rhyllary Coelho e Silva

I am a Brazilian ecologist and PhD candidate in Agronomy at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), currently a visiting PhD student at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), in the Department of Crop Production Ecology.

I hold a Master's degree in Agronomy from the University of Brasília (UnB), with research focused on agroecological grain production in the Brazilian Cerrado. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Ecology and Environmental Analysis and postgraduate qualifications in Environmental Health and Sanitation in Rural Areas and Higher Education Teaching.

My academic and professional background combines scientific research, environmental conservation, agroecology, and sustainable rural development. I have experience coordinating educational initiatives and socio-environmental projects involving family farmers and rural communities in Brazil.

My research interests include agroforestry systems, ecological restoration, soil sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and ecosystem services. My current doctoral research focuses on sustainability indicators and environmental services provided by agroforestry systems in the Brazilian Cerrado, including their potential integration into Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) schemes.

I am particularly interested in connecting scientific knowledge with practical approaches that support sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and the development of resilient rural communities.

My research focuses on the sustainability of agroforestry systems in the Brazilian Cerrado, particularly soil quality, environmental indicators, and ecosystem services. I investigate the role of agroforestry systems in sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation, with a particular interest in the assessment, valuation, and remuneration of ecosystem services through Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) schemes.

I have a background in Ecology and Environmental Analysis, with experience in environmental assessment, ecological restoration, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable land management. My work focuses on evaluating soil and environmental indicators, assessing ecosystem services, and developing nature-based solutions, particularly in agroforestry systems and restoration projects in the Brazilian Cerrado.

I have experience in teaching and coordinating technical education programs, particularly in agriculture and rural development. From 2017 to 2022, I worked as a Technical Course Coordinator, supporting educational activities and professional training. I have also delivered training courses and workshops on agroecology, beekeeping, sustainability, and community development, combining theoretical knowledge with practical learning experiences.

I hold a postgraduate specialization in Higher Education Teaching and have experience in technical education, educational coordination, and community-based learning. From 2017 to 2022, I worked as a Technical Course Coordinator, supporting educational activities and professional training. My pedagogical experience also includes teaching, developing educational projects, and delivering training activities focused on agroecology, sustainability, and rural development.
