About
The research school Focus on Soils & Water, FoSW, is an umbrella organization open to all postgraduate students, postdocs and researchers at SLU who are active within soil and aquatic sciences.
Aim
Our aim is to achieve a higher level of understanding processes in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems by organizing a broad variety of high quality activities and improving cooperation within the soil and aquatic science community. Some 60 PhD students and 100 researchers spread over three clusters are active within these fields of science. The PhD students within FoSW are predominantly studying how soil and water quality is affected by land use and management, climate change and functional diversity.
Activities
The school organizes PhD courses, seminars and workshops, often with international experts as keynote lecturers. We also organize contact days with public and private sectors.
