Researcher in Food Control Literature Review

Department of Animal Biosciences

We are looking for a researcher for a fixed-term position to conduct a scientific literature review on the effects of official food control.

About the position

We are looking for a motivated, thorough and responsible person to join our team. You will work independently on a project, with ongoing support and collaboration from the rest of the team.

A key part of the role will be to conduct a systematic literature review on the effects of official food control. The review will examine how food control influences the behaviour of food businesses and their compliance with food legislation. It will also assess which control methods and approaches have the strongest evidence of improving food safety, compliance, and the accuracy of information provided to consumers, such as food labelling.

Your main tasks will include searching for scientific literature, selecting relevant studies based on the project’s research questions, assessing the quality of the studies, and compiling and analysing the results. You will also identify gaps in current knowledge and areas where further research is needed. The role may also involve conducting interviews with relevant stakeholders, mainly in the Nordic countries.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a PhD or other documented experience of conducting literature reviews and/or evidence reviews. Previous experience of food control, or other types of regulatory control or inspection, would be an advantage. You will be part of a supportive team while working independently and taking responsibility for this specific task. The applicant must have very good ability to read and write in English. Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
