At the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences we work with most aspects of our animal's lives and health, including farm animals as well as sports animals and pets.
Our thematic breadth is extensive, from animal husbandry, animal health and welfare, food safety and quality well to public health. In all these areas, we do resaerch and educate at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels.
Most of our deparments and units, as well as the faculty office, are located in Uppsala, although important work is also done in Umeå, Skara, Flyinge, Strömsholm and Wången.

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science offers education with focus on animals. The faculty offers programmes and courses on Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral level. Many of them are among the most popular in Sweden.

The VH faculty runs one of SLU's research schools, the Graduate School for Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences (GS-VMAS), which includes all doctoral students within the faculty.

The faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science is considered one the most prominent in the world, regarding research within animal science and veterinary medicine.
Our research is focused on health and sickness among farming animals, horses or companion animals as well as animal management, animal welfare and animal health and the important ethic issues.
SLU's Environmental Monitoring and Assessment (EMA) meets society's need for decision support, including support for Sweden's national environmental objectives and international environmental cooperation.
EMA works in twelve programmes. One of them, A Non-Toxic Environment, is organized within the VH Faculty.
Collaboration with industry, authorities and organisations is a natural part of SLU activities. The university contributes with knowledge and competence in various collaboration projects.
