Phenology webcams at forest field stations

At SLU's field stations in Vindeln, Siljansfors, Jädraås, Asa and Tönnersjöheden there are cameras that document phenological changes in the forest landscape, i.e. how nature adapts to the changing seasons. Images from each camera are uploaded to a central image bank every hour between 06.00 and 18.00. The images are automatically analyzed for the proportion of green and red (vegetation indices GCC and RCC) within focus areas. Focus areas are mainly defined by individual tree species that can be distinguished in the images.

The images and data generated from the images can be used to study changes in vegetation over time, both over a longer period and within a year (i.e. changes due to seasons, phenology).
