Homayoon Davam is a PhD student in the project "Combatting colibacillosis in poultry: measures to prevent outbreaks". Here we get to know him a little more!

Three curiosities about veterinarian and doctoral student Homayoon Davam:

1. Moved to Sweden to develop further

– I was born and raised in Rasht, a beautiful city in northern Iran, and I trained as a veterinarian in the capital Tehran. For three years, I worked with poultry on farms, before deciding to continue my studies—and that’s what brought me to Sweden and SLU.

2. "Perfectionist"

– I have a strong inner drive to make sure that what I do in life truly matters. That mindset was shaped early on in school, where expectations were often very high—and I’ve carried that with me ever since.

3. Passionate about making the most of every situation

– Sometimes it can feel strange working with production animals that you know will eventually be slaughtered. But for me, it’s about doing everything I can to give them the best life possible, here and now, for as long as they live.
