The equivalent of entrance requirements for acceptance onto the Diploma Programme in Agricultural and Rural Management, and the equivalent of at least 50 credits including at least- 40 credits Agricultural Science including
- 10 credits Zoology.
Objectives
Students will be able to work independently in leadership roles within an animal-producing business or provide advisory services within animal production.
On completion of the course, students will be able to:
-Analyse and evaluate production in an animal business in biological, technical, occupational, economic and environmental terms,
-Design and defend proposals for change in problem enterprises,
-Plan and organise working practices and labour requirements in animal businesses.
Content
The course is mainly based on lectures, reading of the literature and case studies. Students also have the opportunity to carry out individual work and study visits. In the case studies and the individual projects, students can specialise in certain animal species.
The course includes compulsory participation in certain parts, such as some exercises and study visits.
Grading form
The grade requirements within the course grading system are set out in specific criteria. These criteria must be available by the course start at the latest.Formats and requirements for examination
A pass grade in accounting of case studies, assignments and participation in study visits and accountings.
- If a student has failed an examination, the examiner has the right to issue supplementary assignments. This applies if it is possible and there are grounds to do so.
- The examiner can provide an adapted assessment to students entitled to study support for students with disabilities following a decision by the university. Examiners may also issue an adapted examination or provide an alternative way for the students to take the exam.
- If this syllabus is withdrawn, SLU may introduce transitional provisions for examining students admitted based on this syllabus and who have not yet passed the course.
- For the examination of a degree project (independent project), the examiner may also allow the student to add supplemental information after the deadline for submission. Read more in the Education Planning and Administration Handbook.

The right to participate in teaching and/or supervision only applies for the course instance the student was admitted to and registered on.
