Content
The agrarian summer trip starts at Ultuna one early morning in June. The trip goes through Östergötland, with study visits at several agri-businesses and authorities in the agricultural sector, as well as in the forestry sector. The field trip then settles at the manor Östad, which will be the starting point for daytrips to agribusinesses nearby. A couple of days later the participants in the course travels together north of Vättern, visiting operations along the route, and ending the trip back at Ultuna.
The theme of the course is the agricultural and forestry sectors, and students will get a glimpse of the conditions for production in the part of Sweden covered by the trip. This means that visits to businesses and organisations within the agricultural and forestry sector, bsuinesses in the food production and food processing industry, as well as companies with expertise in the managerial and technical side of agribusiness is included in the field trip.
In the course students will be exercising their skills in team work, oral presentation and writing reflections. They will also get to know the working conditions for agronomists.
