RELOAD:  Reduction of Post Harvest Losses and Value Addition in East Africa Food Value Chains

14 Institutions Germany, Sweden, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda have been involved. In the project, 36 and 49 MSc students have been trained for PhD and MSc degree respectively. 

RELOAD proposed to establish a development oriented inter- and transdisciplinary African-German Research Network in Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia, to address reduction of PHL and enhancing value addition. RELOAD’s integrated approach addresses the whole food value chain, including scientific base, capacity building, handling and processing at smallholder level, transport, storage, processing and market access.
