Master thesis in Business Administration, A2E

An independent project is usually the last course in a program; it is a project where you will apply your in-depth knowledge, skills and capabilities to an academic study of an issue in the field of your education. The independent project can be carried out individually or as a joint project between two students, where you will plan, conduct and present an academic study. Your project will be presented in an open seminar. You also have an opportunity to publish your thesis open source, in SLU’s database, Epsilon.

Information from the course leader

Welcome to the master thesis course, fall semester 2022 at the Department of Forest Economics (at Ultuna, Uppsala)

The course starts Monday August 29th (13-16) in Backsippan (D353) in Ull's hus at Ultuna Campus

It is good if you make sure that you have access to the reference course book at the start of the course.

Robson, Colin & McCartan, Kieran (2015) Real World Research (4th ed.) John Wiley & Sons, Chichester, the UK, ISBN: 978-1-118-74523-6

You can find the course book digitally at GU's link here: https://canvas.gu.se/courses/36126/files/3328133?module_item_id=229244

Additional materials (articles etc.) are made available for you when the course starts. The Canvas page also offers lots of links to supportive links and templates, and examples that will be helpful in the process.

The Master Thesis course in forest economic / business administration is organized with lectures the first week, and after that we meet in seminars where each project is discussed at various stages of the process. The course has four seminars where students take discussant roles to prepare for the final seminar. Students can do their thesis project alone or jointly.

We will post a list of possible commission projects prior to the courese start. You may also take on a project that you identify yourself. We have limitations in advisory capacity, which means we are not able to take on just any project. It needs to be grounded in a subject that is relevant for the program in areas where we have advisory capacity.

We look forward to meeting you - after the summer.

All the best,

from the teachers in the course through Cilla Mark-Herbert (course leader)
