Feed science and forage production

This course is for students that want to go more in depth in the fields of feed analyses, feed evaluation and feed production. A special emphasis is on forage from leys, although other feeds also are included in the course, as well as feeding aspects for the non-forage-eating species. The course contains in addition to lectures practical parts such as feed analyses, ley species identification and study visits. There are also exercises in feed optimization and in planning of ley production for different purposes. The course parts on ley production are performed together with crop science students to facilitate the formation of a common basis for future profession.
