Ecology and Management of Diseases and Pests of Forest Trees

The goal of this course is to provide understanding and skills relating to the biology of insects and fungi and how insects and microorganisms interact with forest and trees. Emphasis is put on species which affect trees and forest ecosystems with a high impact on forest economy.

Welcome to the course!
All details of the course can be found within the online course site, syllabus and attached files. The flow of this online course uses a mix of self-work and real-time learning activities. This course will have different assignments, scheduled live sessions, text discussions as well as lectures and other course materials. Each student must manage their own time each week, to know when assignments are due, and any other weekly course obligations. This will involve regularly logging into the online learning platform, virtually interact with classmates, teachers, and course materials. The course uses the online learning platform Canvas. Real-time learning activities are organized using Zoom. Students are expected to familiarize themselves with Canvas and Zoom in good time before the start of the course.
