Project based advanced course in Horticulture and Agriculture

Project methodology and communication tools for stakeholder collaboration are introduced in the form of lectures, seminars and course literature. The main part of the course consists of independent work with own project that is carried out individually or in groups with individual specialization. The work is carried out in collaboration with a host company and with the support of supervisors and should result in a written report that even includes a literature review based on scientific literature. The project aim is defined in collaboration with the host company and the examiner and supervisor at SLU.

The course uses different forms of teaching to promote student learning and discussions through:


Projects, lectures, project presentations


The course focuses on the following general competencies:



  • Communication

  • Planning and performing of project

  • Presentation of results orally and in writing, in a way suitable for the audience


The following elements are compulsory:


Lectures, exercises, presentations


Collaboration with the surrounding community takes place through project work.
