Crop Production and Business Management in Horticultural Business

The course includes the establishment of a business plan, leadership and organization, production of fruit and vegetables as well as ornamental plants, where cultivation is carried out in horticulture companies with open field, greenhouse and/or nursery areas. The course covers cultivation methods for commonly occurring garden crops. The product, in this case the item presented on the market, is followed up to a possible storage/customer.


Particular importance is attached to the following aspects:



  • application of a market-oriented approach

  • application of basic strategic perspectives

  • application of business administrations models

  • application of various financial management tools in a business plan

  • group dynamics and leadership

  • analysis of cultivation conditions

  • control of climate, irrigation and plant nutrient supply

  • selection of plant nutrient sources

  • selection of energy sources

  • greenhouses, warehouses and other economic buildings

  • logistics and work organization

  • machine chains

  • storage capacity and durability
