The One Health Breakfast Club #3 "Malaria mosquitoes take the piss - acquisition and utilisation of cattle urine as a nutrient resource"

internal events | seminars, workshops |

Welcome to the One Health Breakfast Club September 27 between 8.00 and 9.00. You get a short inspirational talk, some breakfast, and a chance to meet and have transdisciplinary discussions with SLU colleagues. Last sign up date 20 September. See you there!

Each Breakfast Club starts with a short inspirational talk and then it's up to you to mingle and take the opportunity to enjoy interesting transdisciplinary discussions and initiate new collaborations.

For those of you not based in Uppsala, Alnarp or Umeå, it will be possible to take part in the inspirational talk via Zoom (but you miss out on the breakfast mingle).

Regardless of whether you see yourself as a One Health researcher or not, we promise that you'll find something of relevance for you. Almost all of SLU's research interests are linked to One Health!

Program

  • 8.00-8.30 - Inspirational talk: Malaria mosquitoes take the piss - acquisition and utilisation of cattle urine as a nutrient resource, presented by Sharon Hill, researcher at the Department of plant protection biology in Alnarp
  • 8.30-9.00 Networking breakfast

Sharon's long‐term basic research goal is to understand the ultimate mechanisms underpinning the evolution of haematophagous (i.e. blood-feeding) behaviour in arthropods. She is also committed to the protection of people at risk by the innovation of new chemosensory‐based vector control tools suitable for integration into various vector control platforms in use around the globe.
