James Kurén Weldon
I am a researcher at the Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment, and Head of Programme Centre for ICP Integrated Monitoring, a network of sites across 15 European countries focussed on monitoring the ecological effects of atmospheric pollutants.

Presentation

I am working in forest ecosystems, with a focus on the deposition of atmospheric pollutants as disturbance factors. I am particularly interested in how eutrophication and acidification affect vegetation community stability. My other main focus is environmental monitoring, and I am active in the ICP Integrated Monitoring and eLTER networks. ICP IM is a body under the United Nations Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution, and the Programme Centre is based at SLU.

I am also working in the preparatory phase project (PPP) for the establishment of Integrated European long-term ecosystem, critical zone, and socio- ecological system research infrastructure (eLTER RI).
