Svante Rehnstam
I am a PhD Student in Organic Environmental Chemistry conducting research on per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS). My research involves developing new high-resolution mass spectrometry techniques for detecting and analyzing PFAS.

Presentation

In my research I have been performing suspect and non-target screening of PFAS impacted sites to elucidate the various PFAS that are not commonly covered in targeted analyses. These impacted sites have included landfill leachate and groundwater, which have been characterized with liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry

Research

I am currently researching water that has been treated with novel treatment techniques such as foam fractionation and electrochemical oxidation. The goal of the project is to investigate transformation products, in other words new unwanted side-products, as a result of the treatment.
