(POPs) are being transported by air masses from source areas to remote regions where they are deposited via rain, snow, and dry particle and gas deposition. These long-range air transported POPs may be further mobilized by terrestrial export to stream water, thus eventually ending up in the sea. In this seminar, research on the transport and fate of POPs in remote Swedish catchments is presented along with the potential impact of these POP fluxes on the Baltic Sea.
