Proteomics Facility at the Chemical Biological Centre (KBC)

Last changed: 09 September 2020

Quantitative proteome profiling and protein identification.

The proteomics facility at Umeå University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Science in Umeå provides infrastructure, scientific services and education for research in protein science and proteomics. We are used to work with many different sample matrices, if you can extract the proteins from your sample we can analyse them for you.
We do the analysis by digesting the proteins into peptides, the peptides are
then analysed using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), in the end the identified peptides are reassembled into proteins.

The facility currently offers several services to the life science community:

Proteome Profiling – quantitative, data independent analysis.
Proteogenomics – find novel proteins and splicevariants.
Targeted Proteomics – absolute quantification.
Protein Identification – what's in my sample?
Post Translational Modification Discovery – protein activity state.
