CRU seminar: "The inter-relationship between housing, pain, inflammation and vaginal microbiota in pigs: reproductive and welfare outcomes"

A CRU seminar with invited speaker Dr. Adroaldo Zanella from the University of São Paulo, Brazil.

Due to a flight rescheduling, the talk of Dr. Adroaldo Zanella was moved to 10 March, and broadcasted from Linköping University via Zoom.

Dr. Zanella did his PhD at Cambridge University and post doc at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in München. Dr Zanella has since investigated indicators of animal welfare and reproductive disruption in pigs.

His research also relates to human psychiatric disorders due to his focus on the endogenous opioid system in the brain, similar between pigs and humans. In addition to his research, Dr. Zanella has strong activity in teaching and societal promotion of animal welfare.

The title of Dr. Zanella seminar is “The inter-relationship between housing, pain, inflammation and vaginal microbiota in pigs: reproductive and welfare outcomes".
