Natural resource governance
The main content of the course consists of a broad introduction to different theoretical perspectives as a base for understanding "man and nature" relations and the governance of natural resources. The course covers current natural resource dilemmas and how they are managed in societal contexts at local, national and international levels. Further, the course deals with ecological effects of various forms of natural resource management, and how the governance of resources is institutionally embedded at local, regional and global levels. The course consists of a mixture of lectures and autonomous work, individually and in groups, which is presented and discussed during seminars. The course literature is discussed during lectures and in seminars and students are expected to use the literature during different forms of autonomous work and discussions.
