Nature Based Interventions

Based on the current knowledge and state of the art of nature based intervention students will learn why and how natural environments can support humans’ health promotion. The knowledge can be used to improve planning, choice of and/or design of places for nature based interventions. Special attention is paid to the role of nature, as different kinds of landscape e.g. forests and gardens; edible plants as well as considering variation related to season and geographic location. Different places where nature based interventions are used will be visited both with the whole class and individually, and professionals working with NBI will be interviewed.
Written assignments, oral presentation of exercises and participation in seminars and field trips are compulsory.

The course consists of four main blocks including a number of compulsory online elements, see message from course leader. Details will also be available in schedule around 1 month before start.
